VAANYA – A Real Estate Project for Senior Living
(Graduation Project at Sunny Side Up, guided by Poonam Rao and Mullai Selvan)
During my time at Sunny Side Up, I had the opportunity to work on VAANYA, a real estate project focused on designing for senior citizens approaching retirement. Under the mentorship of Poonam Rao and Mullai Selvan, I explored the intersection of branding, psychology, and accessibility.
Although my logo design was not selected, this project was an incredible learning experience. I conducted extensive research into how aging affects color perception, discovering that as people grow older, they tend to prefer softer, muted color palettes over highly saturated tones. This insight deeply informed my approach to the visual identity, ensuring it resonated with the target demographic’s emotional and practical needs.
This project taught me the importance of empathetic design thinking and how strategic visual choices can create a sense of comfort and trust for specific audiences.
